Gilze-Rijen 09/02

A beautiful day for spotting at Gilze Rijen airbase, home of the 301 Redskins Apache sqn.

We were lucky enough to catch 2 flights of 2 AH-64D's on a lovely winters day.

Stampe Fly-in 03-04/05

The first weekend of May hosted the 18th Stampe Fly-In at Deurne airport in Antwerp.

This is an annual gathering of Stampe SV4 biplane trainer aircraft. The event attracted SV.4's from all over as well as some attractive visiting aircraft such as a couple of Stearmans, a Supermarine Spitfire and the Scandinavian Historic Flight's P-51 Mustang "Old Crow".

La Ferté Alais 30/05 - 01/06

For the 36th consecutive year, La Ferté Alais hosted another brilliant airshow.

From the WWI era to modern day aviation, Ferté Alais provides airshow enthousiasts with every aspect of over 100 years of aviation.

This year, outstanding performances were given by a B-25, a Klemm 35D, a Ryan PT-22, a Grumman Avenger and a truly great (and maybe the last time?) display by the French B-17 "Pink Lady".

Bitburg 28-29/06

The Luxemburg airshow was held at Bitburg airport in Germany.

Compared to some other airshows, the Bitburg airshow was rather "small" in size but hosted a number of rare aircraft such as the Red Bull DC-6, OV-10 Bronco and the EADS Messerschmitt Me-262.

Florennes 04/07

The 2008 Belgian Defence Days were held at Florennes.

We weren't able to attend the show itself but here you can find some nice shots taken from outside the airfield on arrival day.

Flying Legends 12-13/07

This year's Flying Legend provided some special performances: a US B-17 Flying Fortress "Liberty Belle" came over all the way from the US and the Scandinavian Historic Flight brought both their P-51 "Old Crow" and their A-26B Invader.

No less then 12 Spitfires and 6 Mustangs were also part of the displays.

Royal International Air Tattoo 12-13/07

2008 was a disaster year for the RIAT: it promised to be a very good show with some rare and exclusive participants such as the Brazilian display team "Esquadrilha da Fumaça", Chilean Air Force Aerobatic Team "Los Halcones", Indian Air Force Helicopter Display Team "Sarang", a Canadian CF-18 Hornet, the F/A-18F Super Hornet, the Avro Vulcan and the F-22 Raptor, ...

Unfortunately the weather during the preceding weeks worked very much against this year's Air Tattoo, so much so that they even cancelled both showdays. As a result this gallery only shows pictures of the arrival, rehearsal and departure days.

Farnborough 19-20/07

The 2008 Farnborough International Airshow was a first for us.

Since we missed the Avro Vulcan at Fairford, the decision was made to have a go at Farnborough.

The displays were a nice mix of historic, military and civilian displays such as the Airbus A-380, the Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet, the Aermacchi M-346, the Alenia C-27J and the Avro Vulcan.

Wings 'n Wheels 08/08

The annual Wings & Wheels event at Ursel was back stonger then ever:

The Scandinavian Historic Flight P-51D "Old Crow" was amazing, as was the appearance of a Skyraider and the French B-17 Flying Fortress "Pink Lady".
